Ferrari’s first PHEV, the 2019 SF90 Stradale, was able to complete a lap in just 1min29.625s at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedways, reaching a top speed of 280.9 km/h. The record was set last July 15th with the track-focused version of the SF90 Stradale, during the Ferrari Racing Days event that took place on the circuit. The Indianapolis circuit is well-known for its oval configuration, and is a complex track that is composed of 14 turns and is 3,925 km long.

The SF90 Stradale pays homage to the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari, and is the most powerful Ferrari on the road ever. This masterpiece is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, with 780 hp at 7500 rpm and 800 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. It can reach a maximum output of 1000 horsepower thanks to three electric motors; two of them placed on the front axle, with the third on the rear axle, between the engine and the gearbox.

However, this particular one is equipped with the Assetto Fiorano package, which include significant performance and aerodynamics enhancements, as well as lighter materials like carbon fiber components (door panels, carbon fiber spoiler…) and a titanium exhaust system, causing the total weight to drop by 30 kg in comparison to the standard SF90 Stradale. The Assetto Fiorano package also offers the optional two-tone livery.

Last but not least, the car used for the Indy record was equipped with the optional super sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, responsible for generating 390 more kg of downforce at 250 km/h.
