Only a few weeks after the official reveal of the Ferrari 296 GTB, the brand’s first Hybrid V6 supercar, a test mule of what looks to be the spider version (296 GTS) was caught around Maranello.

It’s clear that the back features some modifications that allows the driver to hide the folding metal roof in the compartment behind the seats, however you can expect the convertible model to feature the same front, rear/side profiles, and air intakes behind the doors as the coupe version. Reports suggest the spider version to be slightly heavier than the GTB due to the roof cut which will make it make it a bit slower than the standard version.

Ferrari started testing the spider version of the 296 GTB, so stay tuned for more spy shots in the following weeks that will give us cues of the probable final appearance.
