Ferrari reveals launch dates of its 2021 Formula 1 car
On Friday, Ferrari completed a first fire-up of the new car for the 2021 season and is the sixth team that revealed the dates of its launch events, leaving Red Bull, Alpine, Aston Martin and Haas as the only squads yet to announce any dates.
Two separate events will be staged online in the coming weeks, the first being a team event on 26 February and the second one on 10 March to reveal the new SF21 car, just two days prior to the start of pre-season testing in Bahrain. The SF21 will be driven by Charles Leclerc and new team-mate Carlos Sainz this year.
In the video posted to its social media channels, Ferrari is looking to recover from its worst season finish in 40 years, having finished to sixth place in the constructors’ championship in 2020.
"Our 2021 season starts here," said team principal Mattia Binotto to the workforce shortly before the fire up.
"We can expect plenty of challenges along the way and we are determined to do better.
"The car has been improved in all areas where developments are permitted. We must work in a determined and focused way, aware of where we were and where we want to go."
