The intriguing prototype that was caught around Maranello in the past few weeks has now been confirmed to be Ferrari’s new Icona model inspired by the 1967 330 P4, and will be officially revealed during the 2021 Ferrari Finali Mondiali, scheduled between 16 and 22 November. Reports confirm owners of the Monza SP1 and SP2 received a little red box including a letter from Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera informing them about the arrival of this masterpiece in November.

“Being a Monza owner, you entered the exclusive Icona collection. You are now the first to know about the next Icona model coming soon.” Galliera mentioned.

According to receivers, the red box enclosed a replica cancelletto from the classic Ferrari that inspired the company’s new Icona model, and looks close to the original one in the Ferrari 330 P4.

Although the black covering hides a lot of details, we can notice some similarities with the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4 like the low nose, a bit taller rear end with an extended wing and the rearview mirrors on the front fenders.

It also appears to feature center-exit exhausts, thin taillights that follow in the footsteps of the SF90 Stradale and 296 GTB, and a spoiler integrated into the tail.

Rumors suggest the new model shares a chassis with the LaFerrari Aperta, and a naturally aspired V12 mounted in the middle that could be the engine from the last Icona model, the Monza SP1 and SP2, or the 812 Competizione.

While waiting for Ferrari’s Finali Mondiali event in November, stay tuned for more!
