On Monday, Ferrari opened the door for a special guest, the world’s most famous professional footballer and one of the most passionate supercar collectors, Cristiano Ronaldo. The chairman of Juventus Andrea Agnelli accompanied Ronaldo, however, the visit included F1 superstars Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr., and current President of Ferrari John Elkann.
The visit started at the Fiorano Circuit, Ferrari’s historic race track, where the flagship footballer of the Juventus of Turin, Cristiano Ronaldo, gave each driver a signed T-shirt of the Italian team, with his number and name.
He also had the opportunity to drive on Ferrari’s famous circuit with the single-seater Ferrari Monza SP1, whilst also having a spin in Ferrari’s latest hybrid the SF90 Stradale.
The President of Ferrari John Elkann took the Portuguese footballer on a tour of the legendary Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.
The Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera reported that Ronaldo opted for a $1.95 million limited-edition Monza SP2 in a “super-exclusive red”, the two-seater version of Ferrari’s celebration of the past. He’s not the first sportsman to own this iconic Ferrari, Zlatan Ibrahimovic owns one, as do racing driver Max Verstappen and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
